Move Forward Party Leader Chaithawat Tulathon said today that some government coalition parties are trying to persuade Move Forward MPs to join them, if Move Forward is dissolved by the Constitutional Court this coming Wednesday.
He said, however, that he is confident that the party’s MPs will not betray the trust of the electorate, adding that he has not given any special instructions to MPs about the need to stick together amidst political uncertainty relating to the pending court decision.
He also said that he does not want to create an atmosphere of mutual distrust amongst MPs which, would damage the party.
Chaithawat said he remains optimistic that the party will not be disbanded by the charter court, for attempting to overthrow the constitutional democracy, as charged by the Election Commission.
Commenting on a rumour that some party members had approached another party about becoming the new home for Move Forward MPs, the party leader said it remains unclear which party or parties the MPs would join, were their own party to be disbanded.
He urged the media and the public to focus on the Constitutional Court’s ruling and its details, noting that it will not only affect Move Forward, but the Thailand’s body politic.
